My first recording project for the new year is a Mariachi CD featuring vocalist Angel Ramirez. Man, have I been looking forward to this!! I've always admired the whole sound and feel to Mariachi music and I finally get a first hand opportunity to produce it!!
Our first studio date was January 13th. We were able to record 5 out 12 songs. many thanks to Rick DeLellis at Figment Studios!!
Here's a couple of sample tracks for your enjoyment:
Sample Track 1
Sample Track 2
We have more dates scheduled throughout the next several weeks.

"Save My Love" is finally here!!! Woo-Hoo!!
Now THIS is what I'm talking about! - putting minds together to create something bigger than any one person.
A true collaboration, "Save My Love" is a song co-written by the original ODS lead vocalist, Nifiteri 'Lilly' Almanza and myself. We also incorporated the musicianship of former Ojo Del Sol members David 'Wiz' Garza on guitar and Rodolfo 'Papi' Briseno on percussion.
We started out by using a "Jungle" beat on drums and then added a solid Latin bass line. Keys were sprinkled throughout the tune. Acoustic and electric guitars were added by David Garza, followed by a Rodolfo Briseno playing a strong "Gua Guanco" beat on congas and then layering in the bongo parts. Lyrics are both in Spanish and English.
